Broken Computer Is No Longer Broken...

The last day of work before Christmas break I called Justin to see how is day was going, he said, "well do you want the good news or the bad news?" I braced myself for what he was going to tell me. He said that he was moving the furniture in his office, and he set his computer on the floor. When he was moving part of the desk a lamp fell on his computer, and cracked the screen. He was at Best Buy looking into our warranty, and seeing if it would cover the screen. He called me back, and guess what? Our warranty that we paid an extra $200.00 for does not cover the screen. Can you believe it. So if it doesn't cover the computer what exactly does the warranty cover? Well, nothing really. What a waste of money. Anyway, Best Buy wanted $400.00+$100.00 for labor to fix it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? WE could buy the exact same computer for that price. Well, Justin did some checking and he could get one online, and install it himself. Well, I told him to just not worry about it because it was going to be Christmas break, and he wasn't going to need it for a few days, and so we could think about it and check out our options. Well, upon returning to work he looked on eBay, and found a screen that would fit, and got instructions on how to install it. It was less than $80.00 to fix it. The screen finally came, and he was able to install it last night. What a relief because he depends on his computer so much for work. He needs it the give info to clients when he is with them, and it was hard to meet with people when he didn't have the information he needed. So it is a relief to have that problem fixed, and to have done it without costing us a fortune! I will never buy a warranty from Best Buy again.

In this picture you can see he has the new screen installed, and where his thumb is you can see the crack in the computer. It was a nice size crack. It wasn't on the outside of the screen, but on the inside.

Isn't it nice to have handy husbands? My husband fixes things all the time that I would have just given up on and spent more money. It amazes me!!
