Family Home Evening

Last Monday we went over to the Yates house for Family Home Evening. We had a lesson on garbage words (words that are mean) and treasure words (words that are nice). Jessica thought of examples of things her girls say to each other everyday that are mean and nice for example "don't touch it, it is mine" would be garbage words. Where "thank you for dinner" would be treasure words. It was a great lesson, and after we were done with the lesson the girls went outside to have their treat, and they kept coming in to tell us that they were saying treasure words to each other. It was fun to watch them taking the lesson so seriously. On Tuesday Scout kept repeating what she had learned in the lesson, and would come tell me every time she said a treasure word...it was really cute. It is so nice when you feel like you haven gotten through to them, and you feel like what you are teaching them matters.
