Parent/Teacher Conference...

Last Thursday I had Tegan's parent/teacher conference. I was really excited to go and visit with her teacher to find out how she is doing so far in school. I don't always get much out of Tegan, and so it was nice to hear how things are going. Here are the highlights from the conference:

  • Tegan is very organized and often finishes her work before everyone else. When she is done she will sit quietly and wait for others to finish or she will get asked to go around and help other students finish.
  • She is doing very well in her reading group
  • She loves to color, and will choose this activity during her free choice. She loves it so much her teacher has tried to get her to do other activities and interact with her classmates more during free choice. She brought in a new princess puzzle that Tegan LOVES.
  • Tegan keeps her teacher on her toes. She is constantly having to come up with new things to keep Tegan challenged in her learning.
  • Tegan in very kind to all of her classmates
  • She is working with Tegan to be more aggressive in telling kids that she doesn't like something or to stop touching her. Her teacher said that she was a little timid, and would not tell the other kids to stop doing something that she didn't like. So she is working with Tegan to be more vocal and that it is okay to ask someone to stop doing something you don't like.
  • She loves to draw, color, and do crafts and is very good at it.

We are very proud of Tegan. She loves school, and has such a desire to learn. She is such a smart little girl, and we love to watch the new things that she is learning. It is exciting to me that she is learning to read. She is such a smart little girl, and we are glad she is in a place that they recognize that and are doing what they need to do to help her succeed.

She is so adorable... and smart! Good looks AND brains! You and Justin are going to be in trouble when she gets old enough to date!;) Glad she is doing so well at school! You're obviously doing something right at home! Way to Tegan!
