We tried to make the days leading up to Christmas fun for the girls, and so we tried to do as many fun family things as we could. We didn't get to do everything we wanted with them
So in order of the pictures: One Saturday we decided to make a bunch of treats, and take them to our neighbors, and some friends. We made sugar cookies, caramel popcorn, and chocolate covered pretzels . The girls had a great time decorating the cookies, and helping me with all the other stuff. It was a great way to start off the holiday, and I am glad we took the time to do it.
When Justin's dad was here visiting we decided to take the girls to the movie. They really wanted to see Rise of the Guardians so that is what we went to see. Of course before the movie even ended Scout was asleep, but it was still a cute little movie, and fun that we got to go together to see it.
Scout lost another tooth...that is always fun and exciting!
We went to our ward Christmas party, and the girls were in the little program they did. It was a really fun evening, and we got to enjoy some really great food.
One Sunday we went over our friends house to decorate ginger bread houses. If I have learned anything about living here it is DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!! We waited until that Saturday to go to Walmart to get the gingerbread kits, and they were OUT! They had these chocolate ones, and because we stink at reading the box we bought 2 of them, not knowing until we showed up at our friends house what we had actually bought. We tried to do one of them over there, and it was a total failure so we gave up and thank goodness Larissa had extra graham crackers and frosting so that my kids could actually participate. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, and we ended up staying way later than we had thought we would. Well, when we got home Justin set Scout's house down in the garage to take care of the dog and left it there. I went out the next morning, and the only thing left of it was the milk carton that was helping it to stand. Dakota had enjoyed a nice little treat! When I realized what had happened I told Justin he better be prepared to make it up to her so that evening he decided that they would tackle the other Chocolate gingerbread house. This one actually turned out, thank goodness, and all was forgiven.
