Last Saturday we had the opportunity to go to Sidney to watch the girls participate in their first dance competition. I was really excited about this because this is the first time ALL year that I have seen the both of the girls dance. Dance has been an interesting adventure for us. They do a lot of their activities and performances on Sunday. Because of that we have not participated in those things. Justin and I decided some time ago that we just would not participate in things on Sunday as much as we could help it. It was hard to skip their Christmas performance, but it was a good thing for our family. Anyway, we almost didn't perform in the competition because it was Saturday, and Sunday, and the instructor couldn't guarantee me that the girls would be on Saturday so I told her we weren't going to go. She ended up telling me to plan on going, and if the girls were on Sunday she would refund our money. We were thrilled to see that they were on Saturday, and would be able to attend. The girls were the very last to dance so poor Justin got his first taste of what it will be like if the girls continue in dance. I had to laugh when I saw one dad in the audience with his IPAD watching golf! Justin said he had it figured out.:) Anyway, the girls did great, and it was fun to watch them perform the dances that they had been working on. After they danced they dismissed for lunch, and then they did the awards. All the girls got a ribbon, and a little stuffed toy. Then all the glasses that performed got a trophy. Then they handed out the trophies to the big winners. Tegan got picked to go up and get the award for her class. She was pretty excited, but so sad that she had to give the award back on Monday. She really wanted to be able to keep a trophy. To her surprise she ended up getting one at dance on Monday for participating...she was so thrilled. Scout also ended up getting one for participating, and she couldn't have been happier. So we made it through our first competition, and it was a success!
